About JAW Photography
I’ve been exploring photography since my early twenties, drawn to the way a single image can hold mood, structure, and emotion all at once. After spending some time away from actively exploring the medium, I’ve found myself returning to it with a renewed sense of curiosity and a stronger creative pull toward making images again.
What I love most about photography is its ability to capture a moment as it is — quickly, honestly, and without needing much ceremony. Most of my photographs are taken with minimal setup and often in the spur of the moment, responding to what is already there rather than trying to force something into place.
I work mostly in black and white because it helps me focus on the essential elements of an image: light, shadow, form, rhythm, and negative space. From time to time I also work in colour, especially when colour itself is part of what gives a scene its presence, atmosphere, or emotional weight.
Alongside photography, I’m also a technologist, and that perspective continues to shape how I think about process, tools, and creative possibility. In time, I plan to explore new ways of blending technology with photography and to see where that intersection can lead as part of the next stage of the work.
The Prints
Each print is produced to a high technical and presentation standard. Prints are made at 2400 x 1200 DPI using Epson Ultrachrome PRO HDR archival inks with a 9-colour ink set, chosen for their detail, tonal depth, and longevity.
I offer two print editions:
- Standard Edition - printed on 230gsm premium white photo matt paper.
- Limited Edition - printed on 308gsm, 100% cotton rag archival paper.
Limited Edition prints are the premium works in the collection. Frames are locally produced in Australia using Australian timber materials and acrylic, giving each finished piece a clean, durable presentation suited to both private collectors and interior spaces.
